On Derrick White’s new role (and new look) with the Boston Celtics

Veteran floor general Derrick White has been officially been named as the Boston Celtics’ starting point guard for the coming 2023-24 NBA season by head coach Joe Mazzulla.

Veteran floor general Derrick White was named the Boston Celtics‘ starting point guard for the 2023-24 NBA season by head coach Joe Mazzulla after the signing of star forward Jaylen Brown’s historic supermax contract extension.

At the same time, a viral video featuring White’s impressive poster dunk sporting a slick new bald haircut. This dunk (and let’s be honest, the new coiff) has generated a lot of attention in recent days as the league’s offseason news cycle begins to wind down for the summer.

The hosts of the “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast recently linked up to talk over the news that White will be Boston’s lead guard this season — and offered their thoughts on the Colorado native’s new look as well.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say!
