Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin calls Arkansas a “rivalry,” “exciting”

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin thinks Arkansas and the Rebels have something special.

The 2021 Arkansas and Ole Miss football game was one for the ages. And one that has the Rebels coach calling the Razorbacks a legitimate rival.

Kiffin took the dais at SEC Media Days on Monday to dish on all things Rebels football. At one point, he was asked about last year’s 52-51 Ole Miss win, which went to the final play of the game.

“It just shows you can’t predict year-to-year or week-to-week,” Kiffin said. “You have no idea how games are going to go. That game was completely different than the year before with them in a low scoring game. It’s an exciting rivalry and one that means a lot to the fans, as well.”

The Rebels finished the season 10-3 and 6-2 in the SEC while Arkansas was 9-4 and 4-4 in league play. They’re scheduled to meet this year on November 19 in Fayetteville.

Kiffin also had words of admiration for Arkansas coach Sam Pittman.

“To see the turnaround Coach Pittman did is really amazing.”
