LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is one of college football’s biggest and most beloved personalities. Closed captioning doesn’t know what he’s saying. He wears his emotions on his sleeves. He’s delightful. It’s difficult to root against Coach O.
So, with that in mind, plenty of college football fans wanted to believe that Orgeron actually strolled down Poydras Street amid a crowd of wild LSU fans and let out a jacked-up, emphatic high-10 ahead of the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.
He did not.
If you are not rooting for this man tonight with every fiber in your being, please keep that energy away from me. #GeauxTigers pic.twitter.com/IgqavToOkg

That walk to the stadium actually came before last season’s matchup with Alabama. Here’s the original video:
That didn’t stop plenty of fans from thinking the moment came from Monday night. Though that would have been objectively epic, Coach O’s walk to the Superdome was likely from a bus at a loading deck underneath the stadium.
Still, the video managed to go viral in the lead-up to kickoff.
How can you not love Coach O?! 🤣🎺
