Two star players for the Green Bay Packers were unable to finish Tuesday’s training camp practice.
Outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith and left tackle David Bakhtiari both exited Tuesday’s padded practice with unspecified injuries. Coach Matt LaFleur wasn’t able to provide an update on either player following the practice.
According to reporters at the practice, Bakhtiari was dealing with a foot injury before exiting the field.
Smith’s absence provided more first-team reps for Rashan Gary, last year’s first-round pick. Alex Light was the first off the bench at left tackle.
Defensive lineman Montravius Adams needed a cart to leave the field after suffering an apparent lower-body injury.
This time of year, any practice that finishes without an injury is a good day. The Packers did not have a good day on Tuesday.
LaFleur did say the Packers were being cautious with center Corey Linsley, who didn’t practice on Tuesday. “Nothing major there,” LaFleur said. Linsley has a history of back issues.
