Unfortunately for the Sooners, Oklahoma’s matchup with Kansas on Saturday hasn’t been all fun and games. Spencer Rattler has left the game with an apparent hip injury.
Rattler appeared shaken up following a goal-line collision during a rushing touchdown, but returned to the field on the following possession. After one play, he was checked out and replaced by Tanner Mordecai. He returned the following possession, but appeared clearly shaken.
It’s unclear at this time whether Rattler will be able to return to this game, but with Oklahoma holding a 31-point lead and Kansas looking for their first win of the season, there’s reason to believe Rattler may sit out the second half as a matter of caution.
This is not the first in-game action that Mordecai has seen this year. He played two possessions in the first half against Texas following a pair of Rattler turnovers.
The Sooners jumped out to an early lead thanks to a handful of forced turnovers and some early scores, but there’s a solid chance that Oklahoma’s offense goes into hand-it-off mode for the remainder of this game.
Spencer Rattler is hurt.
He's been holding his left hip after the rushing touchdown and is now being looked at by trainers. Played one play before coming out on the next play. #Sooners
