Former Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray led the Arizona Cardinals to a thrilling 37-34 overtime win over the previously unbeaten Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football.
Arizona appeared to be finished late in the fourth quarter when Murray led the Cardinals on a promising drive that ended with a field goal. However, a Seattle penalty gave the Cardinals another shot, and Murray made the Seahawks pay with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Christian Kirk to make it 34-27.
Arizona’s defense held, and Murray led the Cardinals on another impressive drive to tie the game at 34 and send it into overtime.
The Cardinals had a chance to win it in overtime, but kicker Zane Gonzalez missed. Gonzalez would get one more shot in overtime as Murray drove Arizona down the field, and this time, he was good from 49 yards out to give the Cardinals a massive win.
Murray was fantastic in the win. He completed 34 of 48 attempts with 360 yards and three touchdowns. And Murray also rushed for 67 yards and another score. He has now scored a rushing touchdown in six of Arizona’s seven games this season.
The Cardinals are now 5-2 on the season and winners of three straight. Arizona is now just a half-game behind Seattle for first place in the NFC West.
