The deal is reportedly worth up to $13 million. Murray was taken No. 23 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he became the first defensive NFL draft selection for Oklahoma since Gerald McCoy. The Chargers put their second and third round picks together in order to move up for the linebacker.
In his final season with the Sooners, Murray chased down 69 solo tackles, and accumlated 102 in total. He started in all 42 of his career games.
Last season, he was named a third-team AP All-American, a second-team AFCA All-American and a first-team All-Big 12 selection by Big 12 coaches and the Associated Press.
The NFLPA agreed to the NFL’s plan on continuing the 2020 season. The Chargers are set to kick off their season against the Bengals on September 13 in Cincinnati.
