While Iowa State will be rocking their all-black alternates for Saturday’s Big 12 Championship, Oklahoma reached into their bag of tricks and stepped out as well, opting for the cream edition of the rough rider alternates.
This is a case as of an unstoppable force and an immovable object as the Cyclones are 4-0 in their black unfiorms this season (including one win over Oklahoma already) while the Sooners are 7-0 in their cream uniforms all-time.
Oklahoma has a unique history with these alternates. Despite the 7-0 all-time record in the cream edition, the Sooners are just 4-3 in the crimson edition, including a home loss to Kansas State this season. Oklahoma typically wears the road alternates against West Virginia. The Sooners wore them in the Big 12 Championship in 2018.
But something’s gotta give on Saturday, even if that means one of these beautiful uniform combos going down.
