After losing a wide receiver commit in the 2022 recruiting class, the Oklahoma Sooners received some positive news for the 2023 cycle. Los Alamitos (CA) athlete Makai Lemon released his top seven schools for his recruitment. The Oklahoma Sooners were joined by fellow Big 12 school, the Texas Longhorns, and five other schools.
Lemon is the No. 1 rated athlete according to 247Sports rankings. He currently is catching passes from another Oklahoma target, Malachi Nelson. The Sooners are looking to be in a good position to land yet another composite five-star pass catcher for the Lincoln Riley offense.
Lemon does a good job with change of direction and has top-end speed to help him create separation from defenders. Two skills that are very valuable in this offensive system. Given that OU is set to land his quarterback, Makai Lemon might follow suit. It would be a fantastic start to the Sooners’ 2023 recruiting efforts.
