Oklahoma set to face off with Iowa State in the Big 12 Tournament

The Oklahoma Sooners will open the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday against the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Oklahoma Sooners march to the NCAA Tournament will begin on Wednesday as they open up the Big 12 Tournament. The school announced that Lon Kruger’s crew will face Iowa State on Wednesday, this will be the third matchup between the two this year. OU swept the season series over the Cyclones who won just two games all year.

On Feb. 6, Oklahoma hosted the Cyclones winning 79-72 after playing two very close halves. Elijah Harkless led the team with 19 points on 6/9 shooting and 6/8 from the free-throw line. They were able to hold off Iowa State despite them shooting 51.6 percent from behind the arc.

The return game happened on Feb. 20 in Ames, Iowa. The Sooners built a 16-point lead in the first half and held on to win 66-56. Austin Reaves led the way with 20 points and five rebounds. Now the two will face off on Wednesday in the tournament. The winner will move on to face the Kansas Jayhawks on Thursday in the Big 12 Tournament.

Following the tournament, the Sooners will find out their seeding and bracket opponents for the NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday.
