Safety and precaution is the theme of the college football season in 2020.

The football players are preparing and working towards the season voluntarily with the option to sit out without being punished by the team or with financial aid in scholarships they have received. In turn, schools are doing everything they can to ensure they are in the safest environment possible.

The Performance Award Center out of Carrolton, Texas, has created a cloth mask that can directly attach to a football helmet. According to a report from a North Dakota State media member, the Bison, as well as Oklahoma, have purchased the cloth masks.

Helmet company Schutt and visor company Oakley have created full-face plastic visors that cover the entire face mask of a helmet, but the Sooners, North Dakota State and many others have chosen the alternative cloth mask.

Oklahoma is still scheduled to begin the 2020 season on Aug. 29 against Missouri State at home for now.
