Jalen Hurts has reaped the rewards of his transfer to Oklahoma.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Hurts with the 53rd pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Despite following in the footsteps of two former Heisman winners and No. 1 overall picks, Hurts made a name for himself at Oklahoma quickly. He played only one season at Oklahoma, but lived up to his predecessor’s names, finishing second in the Heisman race and earning Oklahoma their third-straight playoff bid.
The Sooners finished 12-2 in 2019, losing only to Kansas State and the national champion LSU Tigers. Hurts finished with 3,851 passing yards 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also ran for 1,298 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Hurts now joins Carson Wentz and the Super Bowl LII winning Philadelphia Eagles.
The remaining rounds will conclude Saturday starting at 7 p.m. CT. Oklahoma had two players selected in the first round in CeeDee Lamb at No. 17 and Kenneth Murray at No. 23.
