DeMarco Murray has been a busy man this summer. He spent the last few months helping Oklahoma make up a lot of ground in recruiting five-star running back Taylor Tatum. It paid off with a commitment in July.
Well, Murray’s work isn’t done. The Sooners are pushing for one more running back this cycle. The running back in question? Caden Durham.
Durham is a four-star running back with ties to Oklahoma by way of his mother, a former member of OU’s track and field team. Durham grew up in Oklahoma before moving to Texas.
His recruitment has been a topsy-turvy affair, but clarity is coming. Durham announced he plans to commit on Aug. 1.
Oklahoma has slugged it out with LSU, but ahead of his commitment Durham released a top-three list with the Texas A&M Aggies in the mix as a third contender.
BREAKING: 4-Star RB Caden Durham has now told me, he is down to 3️⃣ schools.
The 5’10 195 Elite RB from Duncanville,(Tx.) is down to #GeauxTigers, #GigEm and #BoomerSooner.

Many recruiting pundits believe this race has been Oklahoma and LSU for quite some time. After appearing in Baton Rouge this weekend for an unofficial visit, things seem to be trending in LSU’s favor ahead of a commitment early next week.
OUInsider and Rivals’ Parker Thune flipped his Rivals futurecast from Oklahoma to LSU on Sunday afternoon, all but confirming the Tigers have the upper hand.
DeMarco Murray can’t be counted out, and with the up-and-down nature of this recruitment, it would be wise to reserve any judgments until Durham reveals his decision on Tuesday, Aug. 1.
