From a pure football standpoint, it may be hard to top last year’s quadruple overtime thriller in which Oklahoma survived after Texas scored twice in the final two minutes of regulation to knot the contest at 31 apiece. But the latest installment of the Red River Showdown is sure to receive plenty of fanfare as Sarkisian looks to immediately make his mark against Riley and Co. in one of college football’s most storied rivalry series.

In the Big 12 Conference, there is no bigger matchup than Oklahoma-Texas. It isn’t even close. The Longhorns have been reinvigorated with the recent hire of Steve Sarkisian away from Alabama. Texas could have a high flying offense when they come to Dallas to take on the Sooners at the Cotton Bowl. Spencer Rattler will look to have a much better outing that led to his benching in the first half.
