If they volunteer, Oklahoma will surely take advantage of the opportunity.
The Sooners have already gained from Tennessee’s abrupt fall due to issues with the NCAA in landing the Volunteers best young offensive tackle. Wanya Morris was rumored to be headed to Oklahoma for a long time, and then eventually let it be known he would be joining the Sooners.
The word was the same surrounding one of their promising young safeties, too.
Keshawn Lawrence is a former top-100 recruit in the country out of the state of Tennessee. Oklahoma was interested, but the Sooners lost that battle to the in-state Volunteers.
As things continued to spiral in Knoxville, Tennessee, Sooners Wire heard word that Lawrence had taken a shine to Oklahoma. The same kind of talk that was surrounding Morris.
Lawrence would eventually enter the transfer portal. Then he eventually committed to play at Oklahoma on Monday.

The Nashville, Tennessee, native was considered the 97th best player in the 2020 recruiting class, the fifth best safety and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee according to Rivals. Oklahoma was a school that offered Lawrence early on in his recruitment and Alex Grinch brought him in on an official visit during the 2019 season.
During his one season with the Volunteers, Lawrence played in all 10 games. He played corner until the final game of the season when he played as a box safety against Texas A&M.
Lawrence will join a deep secondary that includes starters Delarrin Turner-Yell, Pat Fields and Brendan Radley-Hiles returning. Justin Harrington is coming off an injury and young players like Jeremiah Criddell and Bryson Washington are still looking to get in the mix.
Oklahoma may not be done with Tennessee transfers, either, as the Sooners are awaiting word on star running back Eric Gray.
