The award is annually granted to college football’s best kicker, and no Sooner has ever won the award.

A finalist for the award in 2019, Brkic finished his freshman campaign a perfect 17-for-17 on field goals, as well as 52-for-52 on extra points. He was the only kicker in 2019 to make every attempt.
Brkic also broke the record for most attempts on a perfect season by a kicker with 69.
The redshirt sophomore was also named to the Preseason All-Big 12 team, as well as the Sporting News Preseason All-American First Team. Brkic joins Adrian Ealy, Creed Humphrey, Ronnie Perkins and Charleston Rambo on the Preseason All-Big 12 roster.
Oklahoma is currently schedule to begin the 2020 season on September 5 against Missouri State, but is working to move that game up one week in order to allow for testing in between games.
