Oklahoma jumped up to No. 3 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports after a 48-0 win over Missouri State in their season opener. The poll has dropped teams who are not playing this fall.

Quarterback Spencer Rattler finished 14-for-17 for 290 yards and four touchdowns, all in just the first half of the contest.

The redshirt freshman threw deep bombs of over 50 yards to Charleston Rambo and Marvin Mims for the second and third touchdowns of the game.

The Sooners didn’t allow Missouri State even a look at the endzone, pitching a shutout and allowing the Bears to gain just 136 yards in total. Sophomore linebacker Brian Asamoah led the team with seven total tackles.

Texas jumped to No. 8, followed by Oklahoma State’s jump to 12.

No. 25 Iowa State dropped out of the top-25 after a home loss to Louisiana.

Oklahoma is on a bye week before taking on Kansas State at home on Sept. 26 at 11 a.m.
