Oklahoma jumps into the top five in the College Sports Wire power rankings

Michigan leap frogs to the top spot after beatdown of Minnesota.

Another week means another massive showdown in college football. Last week it was the SEC-bound Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns who took center stage. This week it is the Big Ten-bound Oregon Ducks and Washington Huskies who have a top-10 showdown.

These teams battled it out last season in a 37-34 win for the Huskies in Eugene. The Ducks would love nothing more than to return the favor in Seattle. Both quarterbacks are among the top contenders for the Heisman Trophy as well.

In Week 6 the Michigan Wolverines and Georgia Bulldogs looked like the teams we expected with major beatdowns of Minnesota and Kentucky respectively. The Ohio State Buckeyes realized they had the best wide receiver in college football as they raced past Maryland in the second half. Not to be outdone by the Oklahoma Sooners, who took back the Golden Hat with a last-minute drive to beat Texas.

With another week in the books, the College Sports Wire staff put together their composite power rankings with a new leader at the top.
