Oklahoma will be wearing its red alternate jerseys on Saturday against Kansas State. They will also be wearing the white alternate helmets with one modification: the red strip down the middle has now been changed to black.
The world of OU uniforms saw a bit of a commotion this week after images of the new helmet leaked. OU hasn’t debuted new uniforms of any kind in over six years, and few expected this weekend to be the one where it happened.

While speculation about OU’s jersey remained in the coming days, OU has finally put those thoughts to rest and will be wearing the standard red alternate jerseys this week.
In terms of on-field performance, the red alternates seem to bring out the worst in the Sooners, and its not particularly close. Since 2014, OU’s average point differential is at least 16 in all other uniforms, but below 12 in the red alternates.
