Oklahoma’s lineup looked a little different when the Sooners jogged out for pregame warmups prior to Saturday’s season opener against Missouri State.

In total, 20 players were absent from Oklahoma’ starting lineup.

Notably, both the starting left tackle (Anton Harrison) and his backup (Stacey Wilkins) are missing.

Other exclusions include starting running back T.J. Pledger, starting left tackle Anton Harrison and starting wide receiver Obi Obialo

There were also several reserves missing, including backup left guard Andrew Raym, backup nose guard Kori Roberson and backup free safety Justin Broiles.

There is no official reason for the absences, but reports indicated that the Sooners would be “significantly shorthanded” as recently as 4 p.m. Saturday. Reasons include positive COVID-19 tests, contact tracing and injuries.

Starting defensive end Ronnie Perkins is also absent, but this was presumed given his suspension, which carries over from last season.

Oklahoma and Missouri State are set to kickoff at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on pay-per-view.
