It all started with a bang, then another and then another.
Oklahoma jumped out to a 21-0 lead in less than a quarter of game time. The Sooners rode that to their 41-13 blowout win over Oklahoma State.
Lincoln Riley was prepared and ready for Mike Gundy and his Cowboys. Oklahoma was able to get explosive plays on each of its first four drives that started in its own territory. A David Ugwoegbu interception on the second Oklahoma State drive, the first of his career, got the Sooners the ball at the Oklahoma State 20 before a nine-yard touchdown throw from Spencer Rattler to Theo Wease capped that drive off.
Those five drives yielded 27 points, which would have been enough for Riley and the Sooners on Saturday night.
At one point in the second half, Oklahoma State only had 12 first downs. Six of those first downs were aided by penalties from Oklahoma.
The Sooners out-gained the Cowboys 492-246 in total yards, and a whopping 191-78 rushing advantage. Oklahoma also won the turnover battle 1-0, which is a rarity.
This game was topped off by a cool trick play early in the fourth-quarter where Oklahoma ran a reverse pass to Jeremiah Hall that converted into a touchdown to make it 34-13.
The Sooners are right back at it next Saturday on the road at West Virginia.
