Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster. Here is the No. 41 for Oklahoma.

There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start less than 100 days from now.

Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.

Here is the No. 41 for Oklahoma.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Name: Jake McCoy

Number: No. 41

Year: Redshirt freshman

Position: Linebacker

Hometown: Edmond, Oklahoma

Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 216 pounds

Jake McCoy is among many of the walk-on program at Oklahoma.

A product of Edmond North High School in Oklahoma, McCoy came to the Sooners after playing both sides of the football as a senior in high school. He recorded 135-plus tackles and two sacks from the linebacker position. McCoy was a member of the walk-on class in 2019.

For Oklahoma, he is playing linebacker. At that position, McCoy could have a chance to make an impact at some point down the road with the lack of depth and being with defensive coordinator Alex Grinch from the beginning.

He has yet to play a down for the Sooners yet.
