There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start less than 100 days from now.
Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.
Here is No. 34 for Oklahoma.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Name: Eric Gallegos
Number: No. 34
Year: Redshirt sophomore
Position: Defensive Back
Hometown: Frisco, TX
Height/Weight: 5-foot-9, 187 pounds
Eric Gallegos joined Oklahoma out of Heritage high school in Frisco, Texas as a walk-on.
As a senior in 2018, he accounted for 45 tackles at cornerback per Max Preps, 28 of which were solo tackles. He also tacked on three interceptions in his nine games played.
The Sooners are going to be ultra-competitive in the secondary next year. With experienced backs Tre Brown, Patrick Fields and Delarrin Turner-Yell, as well as a host of up-and-comers in Jaden Davis, Woodi Washington and Jeremiah Criddell, a spot in the Oklahoma secondary will be hard to come by.
