Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster. Here is No. 22 Jeremiah Criddell.

There is a ton of momentum to having a 2020 college football season these days. No definite signs, yet, but the season would start less than 100 days from now.

Sooners Wire will be creating player cards for readers to be introduced to the 2020 roster.

Here is the defensive No. 20 for Oklahoma.

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

Name: Jeremiah Criddell

Number: No. 22

Year: Redshirt freshman

Position: Defensive back

Hometown: Santa Ana, CA

Height/Weight: 6-foot-1, 185 pounds

A highly sought after four-star recruit out of Santa Ana, California, Jeremiah Criddell had plenty of proving to do in the offseason.

With the coronavirus cancelling nearly everything, he didn’t get his chance. Despite only playing in three games for Oklahoma last season, Criddell’s versatility still speaks for itself. In his 6-foot-1 frame, he’s the perfect archetype for what Alex Grinch is trying to achieve with his physical defense.

Unfortunately for Criddell, Delarrin Turner-Yell was arguably Oklahoma’s most consistent defender last season at strong safety. Fortunately for the redshirt freshman, Grinch has a strong history of getting plenty of people playing time, and Criddell could simply be too good to keep off the field for long.

With a strong offseason jump, he could make a push for the starting nickel back position.
