The Oklahoma City Thunder have announced that head coach Mark Daigneault and rookie Josh Giddey have both entered health and safety protocols on Tuesday.
This now marks six people overall to enter health and safety protocols for the Thunder since Sunday. The other four are Darius Bazley, Tre Mann, Aleksej Pokusevski and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.
Bazley entered health and safety protocols before Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Mann participated in pregame warmups but was placed under protocols during the game. Giddey, Pokusevski and Robinson-Earl played in Sunday’s game with Daigneault at the sidelines.
Thunder assistant Milk Wilks will serve as the active head coach for the team against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
With the Thunder having five players under health and safety protocols, the team added three players on 10-day deals via the hardship exception on Monday. Those three are G Leaguers Rob Edwards, Scotty Hopson and Olivier Sarr — all of whom have played with the Oklahoma City Blue all season long.
