The Oklahoma City Thunder waived Justin Jackson on Friday.
The Thunder acquired Jackson from the Boston Celtics in the Mike Muscala trade on Thursday. With the Thunder also signing two-way player Eugene Omoruyi to a full-time deal, they needed to create a roster spot.
The trade garnered the Thunder second-round picks (2023, 2029) from the Celtics. Jackson played for the Thunder in the 2020-21 season.
With Omoruyi on the full-time roster, a two-way spot opens alongside Lindy Waters III.
Jackson was owed $2.1 million this season. In 23 games with the Celtics, Jackson averaged 0.9 points, 0.7 rebounds and 0.4 assists.
