The top rookies usually sign with a shoe company relatively early in their careers. That was the case for Oklahoma City Thunder forward Chet Holmgren, who signed with Nike on Friday, per ESPN’s Nick DePaula.
The No. 2 pick will miss the 2022-23 regular season after suffering a season-ending Lisfranc injury during the offseason.
Holmgren has been a household name in basketball homes since his high school days; the lanky seven-footer’s unique game catches the attention of the general public.
Holmgren joins his teammate, Josh Giddey, in the Nike family. The 20-year-old inked his deal with the shoe company in September.
