So, Ohio State is pretty good at this American football craze that’s been going on for over a century now. Maybe things started out a little slow at the turn of the century, but just like a 35-year old Jordan, once things heat up, things roar to a blaze of glory.
In fact, for a better sample size, let’s look at the last fifty years. Ohio State’s program stacks up better than almost any program you can compare it to. The national titles should probably be more with all the talent that’s run through the tunnel in Columbus, but there are still some pretty mind-boggling stats that show just how dominant of a squad Ohio State churns out year after year.
Take what the program shared via Instagram and Twitter Friday. Over the last fifty years, OSU has the best winning percentage, and most NFL first-round draft picks in all of the FBS, and is better than Michigan when it comes to Big Ten titles over that span.
Ohio State also took home the first-ever College Football Playoff national championship in 2014, its third national title during the fifty-year run.

It’s all pretty amazing when you sit back and think about what has happened in Columbus over the last half of a century. And hey, the way things are going, these numbers are only going to continue to look even more impressive.
