The Ohio State Department of Athletics has announced that Jocelyn Gates has been named a Senior Associate Director of Athletics with the Ohio State Dept. of Athletics. Prior to OSU, Gates had stops as Senior Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator at Boston College and prior positions at South Florida, Duke, and the NCAA. Gates will have administrative oversight with Ohio State’s football program.
“We are all excited to welcome Jocelyn to the sports administration team at Ohio State,” Senior Deputy Athletics Director Janine Oman said in a statement from the university. “Jocelyn is a connector who excels at building relationships and is committed to providing our student athletes’ exceptional experiences. Her varied and impressive background in intercollegiate athletics will greatly benefit our team.”
More on Gates’ role with Ohio State, her duties will include serving as the liaison to the offices of Compliance and Student-Athlete Support Services, and University partners. She will administer the department’s Diversity and Inclusion area and will have oversight of an additional sport.

Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith was also quick to welcome Gates to the program.
