The news we were all expecting finally happened on Friday. Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young posted on his social media that he would indeed be forgoing his final season with the Buckeyes and has declared for the 2020 NFL draft.
Young is the consensus top defensive player in the upcoming draft and a veritable lock to be a Top-5 pick. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound terror off the edge racked up 16.5 sacks, 21 tackles for loss and seven forced fumbles.
The Cincinnati Bengals currently hold the No.1 overall pick but most pundits assume they will draft a quarterback. This leaves every team after the Bengals eyeing Young as a potential defensive gamechanger.
