Officials explain ejection of Nets coach Steve Nash in loss to Bucks

An official explains why Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash was ejected in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

In the third quarter of a tough matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, Brooklyn Nets coach Steve Nash got a little feisty with the officials. Nash went after the referees over what he believed was a non-call and he was tossed from the game as the Nets fell to the Bucks 110-99.

Nash got into it with the officials trying to give the Nets a spark, and he had to be held back by Royce O’Neale, but it didn’t work as Brooklyn fell to 1-3 on the season. Kevin Durant led the Nets with 33 points ad Kyrie Irving added 27 while Ben Simmons struggled again shooting 2-for-7 with four points and nine assists.

Afterward, crew chief Josh Tiven spoke with a pool reporter to explain the ejection of Nash:

Steve twice yelled out a very unsportsmanlike comment that was directed at the officiating, that was the first technical. The second technical was for his continual outburst after receiving the first. As per rule, because he received two technicals he’s ejected.

The Nets will look to bounce back when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.
