Defense – Safety JaCoby Stevens

Big things were expected of senior safety JaCoby Stevens in 2020.

In the opener, Stevens proved why head coach Ed Orgeron has consistently praised him throughout the offseason.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., recorded four tackles, two sacks and forced one fumble in the loss to Mississippi State. Stevens. Stevens also recovered a fumble, too.

He was impactful from start to finish for LSU’s struggling defense.

Orgeron and defensive coordinator Bo Pelini want Stevens closer to the line of scrimmage this season in order for him to make more of an impact.

It was quite a debut for Stevens wearing the famed No. 7 jersey for LSU.
