NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio told Trae Young to stop ‘hunting fouls’ a week after wearing a James Harden jersey

Trae Young even has the mayor of New York City mad at him

Knicks fans are absolutely going to hate Trae Young by the end of their series against the Hawks.

Count New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as one of those fans. Trae Young has the mayor of New York City salty after he cooked the Knicks.

He actually took time out of a press conference to address what is, apparently, a very important matter to him and the city: Trae Young’s foul hunting.

De Blasio went on a whole rant about how foul hunting is not actual basketball and he even went as far as quoting Steve Nash on the matter from earlier in the season.

It was totally ridiculous. Especially coming from de Blasio.

“Trae Young, on behalf of the people in New York City, and anyone who cares about actually playing basketball the right way, stop hunting for fouls, Trae.”

He was not done.

“I want to quote Steve Nash — great player, great coach. He says ‘That’s not basketball.’ Trae. Trae. That Hawk’s not going to fly in New York City. Come on. Play the game the right way. See if you can win. I think the Knicks are going to teach you a lesson.”

This is absolute comedy. The mayor of New York City is even tired of Trae Young drawing fouls.

It gets even better, though. Here is de Blasio lecturing Young on drawing fouls and not playing the game the “right way” literally just a week after wearing a James Harden jersey — the literal master of drawing fouls.

The hypocrisy.

Just ridiculous. But, also, it sort of feels fitting for the mayor of New York City.

Somebody let Bill know drawing fouls is an art and Young is good at it. If he needs to be lecturing anybody, it’s his Knicks. Hands down, fellas. Keep Trae off the line.

Maybe they’ll win next time if they do.
