Former NBA player Calvin Booth was recently promoted to become president of basketball operations for the Denver Nuggets.
Booth replaced Tim Connelly, who recently left the organization last month for the same role with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Booth had experience working under Connelly and Arturas Karnisovas, who was general manager of the Nuggets before he left to become vice president of the Bulls.
With his first move as Denver’s president of basketball operations, Booth reportedly traded veteran forward JaMychal Green to the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the process, per Woj, the Nuggets were able to land a first-round pick in the upcoming 2022 NBA Draft.
ESPN Sources: Denver is trading F JaMychal Green and a protected 2027 first-round pick to Oklahoma City for the No. 30 pick in this month’s NBA Draft and two future second-round picks. Nuggets have No. 21 and 30 in this draft now and Thunder has Nos. 2, 12 and 34.

While it’s the last pick in the first round, the Nuggets now have two first-round picks in the 2022 NBA Draft. That’s an exciting development for a team that did well in the 2021 NBA Draft, coming away with exciting rookie guard Bones Hyland.
It’s unclear who Denver would select with either of those first-round picks as of right now, but recent pre-draft workouts hosted by the organization give us a clue.
Some of the most notable names who have reportedly come to work out for the team include Santa Clara’s Jalen Williams, Ohio State’s EJ Liddell, Serbia’s Nikola Jovic, Notre Dame’s Blake Wesley, Baylor’s Kendall Brown, Wake Forest’s Jake LaRavia, Michigan’s Caleb Houstan, Duke’s Wendell Moore, Arizona’s Christian Koloko, and Gonzaga’s Andrew Nembhard.
The 2022 NBA Draft is June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
