Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. on Saturday was named to the NBA All-Seeding Games Second Team based on voting by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters who have been on-site covering the 2019-20 season restart at the Walt Disney World Resort.
Porter played sporadically throughout the season but entered the season restart as the starting small forward with the team dealing with several injuries. He averaged 22.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and one steal in seven games played, shooting 55.1% from the field.
His scoring took a considerable jump on the season during the restart after he scored a career-high 37 points on Aug. 3 and followed that up with 30 points the next game. He finished 15th among all players in scoring at Disney and has played his best basketball of the season thus far.
The media panel voted for five players for the All-Seeding Games First Team and five players for the All-Seeding Games Second Team, choosing a total of 10 players at any position from either conference.

After dealing with several injuries, the emergence of Porter has likely been a welcomed sign for the Nuggets. The team took a risk by drafting him in the first round based on his injury history but he is beginning to show why he was previously the top high school prospect in the country.
The Nuggets tip-off the playoffs on Monday against the Utah Jazz as Porter will likely maintain his place in the starting lineup when the team takes the floor.
