Nuggets host Caleb Houstan in latest round of draft workouts

The former Michigan forward has previously worked out with at least six other teams, including the Raptors.

Michigan freshman Caleb Houstan on Monday was among the prospects to participate in a pre-draft workout with the Denver Nuggets, the team announced.

Houstan, a former five-star recruit from the Montverde Academy, averaged 10.1 points, four rebounds and 1.4 assists on 35.5% shooting from 3-point range in 34 games. He started in every game for the Wolverines and led the team with 60 3-pointers.

The 6-foot-8 forward was highly regarded entering college. He possesses the physical tools and ideal skill set to succeed and is projected to be a first-round pick, as a result. He has previously worked out with at least six other teams, including the Toronto Raptors.

In addition to Houstan, the Nuggets also worked out Mississippi State forward Garrison Brooks, Baylor forward Kendall Brown, Villanova guard Collin Gillespie, Ismael Kamagate of Paris Basketball (France) and Gonzaga guard Andrew Nembhard on Monday.

The Nuggets enter the draft with only the 21st overall selection after they traded their second-round pick. They have met with several other prospects projected to be available in their range, including Nikola Jovic and Jake LaRavia among others.

The NBA draft will take place on June 23.
