Nuggets’ Bol Bol surprisingly made his first career start on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Bol Bol was surprisingly named as a starter ahead of the Denver Nuggets’ matchup on the road versus the Brooklyn Nets. Bol was thrust into the starting lineup with Gary Harris out due to personal reasons, and the result was rather uneventful.

Bol, who was the starting small forward, recorded five points, two rebounds and one assist in a season-high 16 minutes during the 122-116 loss. Bol converted on 1-of-2 attempts from 3-point range after getting freed up near the wing.

The news of Bol starting the game came as a bit of a shock considering he had just five appearances to this point of the season, mostly in mop-up duty. He showed some signs of rust, after traveling twice, while he was tasked with guarding Kevin Durant on the court.

The 7-foot-2 Bol hasn’t cracked the rotation this season with the Nuggets but he could eventually have the opportunity if the team elects to change things up, as they did on Tuesday. He gives opposing teams matchup problems given his size and ability to hit outside shots and they could look to take advantage of that this season.
