Notre Dame’s week one opponent loses starting center to injury

Duke will be without one of their more important offensive players when they come to Notre Dame on September 12.

When Notre Dame welcomes Duke to town for the opener in just 10 days the Fighting Irish will be a significant favorite.

Duke’s road to an upset just got that much more difficult as well as they’ve lost their starting center to a torn ACL.

ESPN’s Andrea Adelson broke the news on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon.

  • “Out indefinitely” is an interesting way of putting what will likely cost Wohlabuagh his season but it’s a big loss for a Duke team that is already playing from behind in terms of talent compared to the rest of the ACC.

Wohlabuagh was an honorable mention to the All-ACC Team a season ago and was awarded the conferences Lineman of the Week Award once last season, after helping the Blue Devils to 45 points and a victory at Virginia Tech.
