Notre Dame’s uniforms are among the classic uniforms in college football.
Gold helmets, blue or white jerseys and gold pants go back decades and decades. Sure, they’ve changed a bit over the years but the basis has remained the same for literally decades.
We have seen slight alterations to the classic look over the years however. Sometimes it’s a different font for the numbers, other times it has been numbers replacing an “ND” on the sleeve or vice-versa.
In all the years of Notre Dame football however, the Irish will wear something next Saturday that they’ve never worn in a single game before.

That’s about as busy as you’ll ever see a Notre Dame jersey as captains will have those five patches in the ACC Championship Game and everyone else will still have four.
Even if the front of Notre Dame’s jersey is becoming dangerously close to looking like a NASCAR driver’s fire suit, I’m hoping we get to see two more different patches included before this team is done playing football.
See you next Saturday.
