Notre Dame isn’t known to be a baseball powerhouse but has had it’s share of big-time prospects. Here are their all-time first round picks.

Aaron Heilman, RHP, 18th overall in 2001 by New York Mets

Aaron Heilman was drafted by the Mets in 2001 and made his way to the majors by 2003.  He’d spend through 2008 with the Mets before playing for the Cubs in 2009 and finishing his career after spending 2010 and ’11 with the Diamondbacks.

Heilman was a dependable reliever, making 452 appearances out of the bullpen.  Between 2006 and 2010 he averaged 75 appearances a season.  His career concluded with a 4.40 ERA.
