After a St. Patrick’s Day to remember in the recruiting front, Brian Kelly, Marcus Freeman, and company have Notre Dame in a position to bring in one of their best recruiting classes in a very long time.
With the addition of four-star linebacker Joshua Burnham, Notre Dame now has 11 commitments in the 2022 recruiting class and 247Sports has taken notice, ranking the Irish second nationally.
Only Ohio State checks in ahead of Notre Dame while LSU, Georgia, and Texas A&M round out the top-five.
Worth noting is that Ohio State, LSU, and Georgia all have commitments from multiple five-star recruits while Notre Dame has zero, but seven of the 11 Irish pledges do come with a four-star ranking.
Notre Dame’s average player rating on 247Sports is 90.89, the 10th-best average of any program so right now it really is a class that is seen largely as having strength in numbers, despite not the most-elite talent.
