Michael Chen’s Notre Dame-Georgia Tech Game Prediction (5-0):

The Irish are coming off their best offensive effort of the season and continue to need to improve on that side of the ball against Georgia Tech. Ian Book needs to show he can effectively pass for this offense to be dangerous. Don’t get fooled by his ACC QB of the Week award last week, there is still much more to be desired from the senior.

The Yellow Jackets Swiss cheese defense (allowing just over 41 points a game) should give Book plenty of opportunities to show that improvement. On the other side of the ball, this isn’t the GT offense of old, they actually run a modern offense and have a star in the making in freshman running back Jamir Gibbs. Quarterback Jeff Simms has thrown 10 picks this year, so defensively as long as the Irish stop the run, they should be able to once again control this game. I think they well, giving the Irish multiple possessions with a short field and this one should be over fairly quickly.
