Notre Dame wins second-straight ACC game

Notre Dame picked up their second straight ACC victory on the hardwood Sunday with a 73-59 win at Miami.

Prentiss Hubb led the Irish with 19 points and nine assists while Nate Laszewski added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Neither Hubb nor Laszewski started the game as Mike Brey decided to shake things up, seemingly as a wake-up call to his team.

What resulted was Notre Dame’s bench scoring 63 of their 73 total points on the afternoon.

“I’ve never seen anything like that,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said after the game, “I’m proud of how they handled it”.

Notre Dame won fairly easily, leading by as many as 19 at one point and not trailing the final 26 minutes of the contest.

Notre Dame picked up their second win in a row after a slow start in the ACC, improving to 2-5 in the conference and 5-8 overall.  Miami falls to 6-8 overall and 2-7 in ACC play.

Next up for Notre Dame will be 20th ranked Virginia Tech who the Irish will host on Wednesday night.
