Notre Dame wins ACC Atlantic Division championship

The Irish are division champions!

Notre Dame is in the middle of a week off from games, but there still is cause to celebrate. The Irish clinched the ACC Atlantic Division title Saturday after Florida State suffered a 9-5 loss to Clemson and Louisville was shut out by North Carolina, 5-0. That means the Irish will have one of the top two seeds for the conference tournament, which runs from May 25 to 30 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

This is the first division title the Irish have won since joining the ACC in 2014 and their first regular-season conference title since winning the Big East in 2006. They have a 22-10 conference record, and that win total matches their best in conference play since they won 22 Big East games in 2001. Their nine series wins are the most by any team in the conference.

The Irish are well on their way to making their first NCAA Tournament since 2015. They have made 21 previous tournaments and accumulated a 42-46 record in those games.
