With Notre Dame not playing the last two weekends it’s difficult to evaluate what you really have in their team. It seems like one that has as much depth as we’ve seen this century for the Fighting Irish and the offensive line looks as good as any we’ve seen but that doesn’t mean there aren’t questions.
Since it’s finally game week again we’ll have all week to break down the good and bad leading into Notre Dame’s game against Florida State next Saturday but for now, we’re reacting to new polls and information coming out after week five of college football became a wrap.
Early Sunday morning Joel Klatt of Fox Sports released his personal top ten after Saturday’s games and Notre Dame was featured which is just dandy.
It’s also worth noting that not one but two ACC teams checked in ahead of the Domers.

OK, it’s one mans top ten and when you do this things in a hurry I know issues come up but a couple questions:
How do you rank three teams who are yet to play a single down that high compared to some teams that have played as many as three games? That’s an honest question, I don’t get how you compare hype to actually seeing teams play.
And what in God’s name is LSU doing listed as being an almost top 10 team? Did you not see a down of their showing in the opener last week at Tiger Stadium? Beating up a Vanderbilt squad that went 1-7 in conference play a season ago doesn’t count for squat.
Alright, beyond that I agree with most things on here. It certainly will be interesting to see how Big Ten and Pac-12 squads get ranked by the College Football Playoff committee once those rankings start happening as they’ll be so many games behind the other conferences throughout the season.
