It may have started slowly for Notre Dame’s offense and Ian Book, but it ended with a bang as Book finished the home portion of his collegiate career with an outstanding afternoon, racking up 285 passing yards, three touchdown passes, 53 rushing yards and a pair of rushing scores.

The win was the 30th by Notre Dame with Book as a starter, the most by a starting quarterback in the long history of Notre Dame football.

He might not be the quarterback that goes on to have the best NFL career in the history of the program, but he leaves near or atop the Notre Dame record books in several categories and the man behind a lot of wins.

Not too shabby for a former three-star recruit who had offers from only a few west coast programs.
