2020 Player Preview – Brendon Clark Season Outlook
It’s not about 2020 for Clark in terms of earning a starting spot. At least not for 2020.
Ian Book is the clear-cut starter entering the year and barring injury, he’ll start every game for Notre Dame this season. This is a big year for Clark in terms of 2021 and beyond at Notre Dame, however.
Phil Jurkovec has moved on to Boston College as Clark enters the year seemingly number two on the quarterback depth chart.
Clark, the 2019 Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year for Notre Dame, will have pressure on to impress in practice this season, as four-star quarterback Drew Pyne is now on campus and the highly-sought after Tyler Buchner is already committed to the Irish in the 2021 class.
The physically impressive Clark will have to earn the time he gets on the field in 2021 and beyond, but the fact his two college finalists were Clemson and Notre Dame, who had already recruited Trevor Lawrence and Jurkovec, he seems like someone who isn’t a bit phased by the idea of competition.
