Notre Dame lands commitment from coveted defensive end

A star in the making for the Irish?

Notre Dame landed their 12th commitment to the 2022 recruiting class on Friday when 6-6, 225-pound defensive end Darren Agu of Rebun Gap, Georgia made his decision official.

Agu is listed as a three-star prospect on 247Sports but has offers from some of the biggest programs like Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Penn State, and several others as 31 programs in total have extended scholarship offers.

Agu was actually born in Ireland and raised in England before moving to Georgia only a year ago and playing 11-man football for just one season before getting those 31 offers.

For a young man who has been playing tradition American football for a year to have received a scholarship offer from Alabama tells you all you need to know about the potential Agu has.

Now can he continue to grow with it?

If so, Marcus Freeman and Notre Dame very well may have just landed a star in the making.
