Notre Dame football hit more than a few milestones in its blowout victory over Purdue, 66-7.
During the game, the Irish scored four touchdowns on the ground, matching a number they haven’t hit since 2000 against USC. They also handed the Boilermakers their worst defeat in school history, topping the previous high of 56 points.
There was another impressive stat that Notre Dame accounted for on Saturday according to ESPN, they scored the most points following a loss since 1908. It’s quirky that the record was set by the Irish, as they defeated Chicago Physicians & Surgions 88-0 following a loss to Michigan. It’s safe to say the quality of opponent was on a different level this Saturday.

It’s goes to show all of us that Notre Dame isn’t going to mail it in this season, and still have plenty to play for.
