Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman set the tone in practice this week

Love to see this from the Irish

While Notre Dame football should by flying high after its season opening win over Texas A&M, there is still work to be done.

The age old mantra of you practice how you play the game has been taken to heart by the Irish. During head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag]’s mid-week media availability, he explained that he could see a difference in how his coaching staff pushed the players during their work early in the week.

He said that there was a different kind of intensity that was brought to the practice fields, saying “we pushed them hard. I told the coaches we can’t pull off the gas pedal.”

You love to see this kind of intensity, even though the Irish’s opponent this week, Northern Illinois, isn’t nearly as formidable as the Aggies. It sets the tone for the program’s expectations, and there isn’t any other way it should really be.
